Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Details
Application Timeline : 16th November to 15th January, every year. Please note that these timelines may change.

Degree Type : Undergraduate , One-tier Master’s , Master’s and Doctorial.
Host Institutions : About 28 higher institutions in Hungary.

About Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship: The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program was established by the Hungarian Government to promote the internationalization of the Hungarian higher education and to attract top foreign students from all around the world who can establish personal and professional attachments to Hungary while enjoying high quality education in the heart of Europe.
Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Documents Required
1 . An Online Application form.
the applicants must fill out well and save all requested information on the
online application form in English.
– a recent photo of the applicant (taken not earlier than 2 years before
the submission of the application).
– those who apply for partial (exchange) studies must clearly state the
length (1 or 2 semesters) and start date (September or February) of
the studies they apply for.
2 . One Motivation Letter : minimum of one page, typed in Times New Roman 12 point letters and written in the language of the selected study program or in Hungarian.
3 . Language Proficiency proof and it translation ;
scanned copy of the original proof of language proficiency, with a minimum level determined by the Host Institution and its translation.
– in case the student has completed his/her previous level of studies in the language of the selected study program, a proof can be uploaded about the fact that the language of education was the same as the language of the study program that the applicant is now applying for. Translations only have to be attached if the copy of original documents not in the program language chosen or in Hungarian.
4 . School Certificates and it Translations. ( if needed)
(a) Bachelor level full time programs: scanned copy of the original secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent and its translation.
(b) Master level full time programs: scanned copy of the original bachelor degree certificate or equivalent and its translation.
(c) One-tier master level full time program : scanned copy of the original secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent and their translations.
(d) non-degree, Hungarian language preparatory programs: scanned copy of the secondary school graduation certificate and its translation.
(e) non-degree, specialization programs: scanned copy of the degree certificate required by the Host Institution and its translation.
(f) partial (exchange) study programs on all study levels: scanned copy
of the original certificate about student status issued by the current higher education institution where the applicants is registered in and its translation.
(g) translations only have to be attached if the copy of the original document is not in the language of the selected study program or in Hungarian.
5 . Transcripts of Records and it translation in the selected program of study.
– Copy of the original transcript of records regarding all academic semesters or school years completed during previous studies (at the highest level of education that the student have participated in) and its translation.
– translations only have to be attached if the copy of the original document is not in the language of the selected study program or in Hungarian.
6 . Identification Document.
– Provided that the applicant already has a passport, a scanned copy of
the passport’s data page should be uploaded
– in case the applicants do not yet have a passport, they should upload the scanned copy of their national ID card.
– that page has to be uploaded which contains both the personal data and the photography of the applicant.
7 . Medical Certificate ; scanned copy of a medical certificate of satisfactory health condition issued not earlier than 15 November 2020.The certificates have to be issued and signed by a physician to prove that the applicant does not have the following illnesses: AIDS, Hepatitis A, B, C, or any other epidemic conditions.
It is not mandatory to submit this document for those applying for study program where this is not a requirement.

STIPENDIUM HUNGARICUM SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS.
Successfully applicants will be covered by the scholarship in the following provisions;
1 .Tuition fee. successful scholarship recipients will be exempted from paying tuition fees till completion of study program.
2 . Monthly Stipend amount of approximately EUR 120 will be given to contribute to living expenses.
For Doctorial students : according to the current Hungarian legislation, the monthly amount of scholarship is HUF 140,000 (cca EUR 390 for the first phase of education (4 semesters) and HUF 180,000 (cca EUR 500) for the second phase (4 semesters) – for 12 months a year, until completion of studies.
3 . Accommodation : free dormitory or a contribution of HUF 40,000/ monthly to your rental cost.
4 . Medical Insurance for up to HUF 100,000 a year per person.
